A study of 2,000 people in the UK conducted by value hotel chain Travelodge found that people have become more friendly to each other in the last year. About one-third of people surveyed believe random acts of kindness are contagious. The survey also chronicled acts of kindness from Travelodge employees, including offering rooms for 40 flood victim families forced to evacuate. "Their kindness is making a real difference to people's lives, whether it is helping flood victims, making goody bags for NHS guests or helping a homeless person with a new start in life," said Travelodge spokeswoman Shakila Ahmed.
