A New Zealand couple, Alistair and Jony, surprised the bride’s mother Luna during their wedding reception by having their heads shaved. Luna, who has since passed away, was in the midst of a battle with ovarian cancer and their gesture was one of solidarity with her. The audience was laughing and crying at the same time, incredibly touched by the couple’s loving act. The couple have set up a donation page and funds raised will go to a cancer society in New Zealand. Groom, Alistair said he wanted to join in his wife’s gesture for her mother as a sign that cancer fighters are never alone in their journey, and they will always have support.
