Officer Matthew O’Hanlon of Mount Laurel, N.J., just adopted a puppy. He and his colleagues found the puppy wandering in an industrial part of town. It was injured and bore no identification tag. O’Hanlon dropped the puppy off at a local animal shelter and within 20 minutes called them back to say he wanted to adopt it. O’Hanlon and his fiancé named the pit bull puppy Thor and hope to remove the stigma surrounding pit bulls being aggressive dogs. “They’re the most loving, affectionate dogs I’ve ever had…. It’s [unfortunate] to see them get bad reputations when it’s really the way they’re raised.”
