If you find yourself walking about 75 miles west of Munich, Germany, you might just bump into a futuristic looking "sleep pod" on the streets of the city of Ulm. These small wood and steel cabins, which can fit up to two people, provide fresh air circulation and shelter their residents from the cold, wind and humidity. Each pod is equipped with solar panels and a radio network, allowing occupants to communicate without direct access to a mobile network.
