Even as she fights cancer and a rare lung disease, Corinna Dewar thinks of helping others. In past holiday seasons, she would bake for her neighbors and deliver treats; this holiday season she gave them Santa-decorated care packages with sanitizing products instead. Dewar had a tough 2020; her lung condition worsened and she was put on a transplant list. Then the pandemic happened and she removed herself from the transplant list, feeling it wasn’t the right time for a transplant. She developed skin cancer and had surgery to remove it. Through all of that, she remains hopeful and grateful for her life. She continues to believe in the importance of looking out for others, even more so during the pandemic.
