The efforts of some hardworking preschoolers are warming people’s hearts, and it’s not just because of all the hot cocoa. These youngsters were moved to action to help their classmate, Jasper Mazzocco, who was diagnosed with brain cancer late last year. The preschoolers recently held a hot cocoa fundraiser to benefit Jasper’s family. With help from their parents, local stores and the community, the kiddos raised over $10,000. Jasper’s teacher, Jessica Stephens, said some people who came to the fundraiser were cancer survivors and others shared stories of their loved ones who battled cancer. “So many tears were shed in those six hours. This experience has been the most beautiful thing I have ever been a part of,” said Stephens. Meanwhile, Jasper is recovering from surgery and keeping in touch with his classmates.
