Twin sisters Luna and Gianella Gonzalez of Liberal, Kans., sent letters to Santa in a novel way this past holiday season. The four-year-old girls released pink balloons bearing their holiday wishes into the air and watched them float away. "It was something different for the girls," said their mother, Leticia, "a memory they could keep after a rough 2020." Instead of whisking the messages off to the North Pole, the wind blew the balloons south, where -- 650 miles from the girls' Midwestern home -- Alvin Bamburg, of Shreveport, La., found the one belonging to Luna. Bamburg reached out through social media and, weeks later, managed to connect with Leticia and her daughters. He hopes, through his network of friends and family, to help Santa deliver on those wishes. Leticia told Good Morning America in a recent interview, "I feel like we've made new friends for a lifetime."
