“My name is Jenny. I didn’t run away. I’m just out for a walk,” reads the sign around the elderly horse’s neck. Jenny is a resident of Frankfurt, Germany, and is well-known both locally and internationally. The local train drivers know her and brake for her; local and international news crews follow her around. Jenny’s owner, 80-year-old Werner Weischeld, rises early to brush and groom her and then hangs the sign around her neck -- and then she heads out on her walk. No one is fazed by the sight of the horse, thanks largely to Werner’s social media presence and large number of followers -- and of course the sign. Jenny is even the subject of a documentary, which is called “The Walk”.
