Octogenarian Terry Kiney and his late wife, Eleanor, had volunteered with Operation Christmas Child, a project of the Samaritan's Purse organization, for two decades. Despite his declining health, Terry remained determined this year to continue that tradition of giving. In only six weeks, he accomplished his goal of packing more than 500 boxes of gifts for children in need. Kiney passed away peacefully in hospice care only three days after his daughter delivered the donations to a local church. During that time, he was able to enjoy a quilt made from the volunteer t-shirts he and his wife had received during their time with Operation Christmas Child, a reminder "of all the good that he and my mom had done together for so many years," said their daughter.
