In what could turn out to be a not-so-merry Christmas, the night before San Antonio Housing Authority (SAHA) employees were scheduled to hand out toys to children, around 200 of them got stolen. The disheartened employees started planning for a pared-down Christmas, but the community came together. When San Antonio residents heard about the theft, SAHA received more than $18,000 in donations and 2,000 toys, so staff had enough now to expand their reach to many more public housing residents.
