The staff at Banner Thunderbird Medical Center in Glendale, Ariz., recently planned a wedding for one of their patients. Samantha Preston, age 22, has been in treatment for late-stage bone cancer since 2019. On a recent visit, staff admired her engagement ring and offered to plan her wedding. With Preston’s agreement, they planned a beautiful event for Preston, her fiancé Angel Aguilar, and their toddler son Odin. “They just completely went all out with the decorations… It was just so magical,” said Preston. About her situation, Preston said, “I just always wanted to remember to overcome adversity with a positive attitude, because that’s what’s going to get you through it the easiest.”
