A 93-year-old veteran in Ohio is whittling walking sticks to raise money for his local food pantry. John Hobson, a retired Air Force colonel, has thrown himself into the task during the pandemic. Each walking stick takes about a day to whittle, and Hobson charges $3 for a donation to the Xenia Area Fish Food Pantry. He has made about 100 walking sticks so far, and when he ran out, he started a GoFundMe page for the food pantry. Makes me feel good, Hobson said.
