Many Americans are putting extra effort into sending holidays cards this year, as a way to combat the effects of isolation. Some people report expanding their circle well beyond the people they normally send cards to and others are designing or drawing their own cards. One enthusiastic sender of holiday cards this year had her 3-year-old son drawing and coloring on her holiday cards. She said, “It’s also an activity that enables him to practice drawing and writing. So, in a way it’s part of our virtual preschool. He gets to draw and color and personalize these cards. And who doesn’t want a customized Christmas card from a three-year-old?”
