With school having moved online amid the Covid-19 pandemic, many students across the United States are forced to study from home. After Marcus Holley, a father of three, realized desks were sold out in his town of Omaha, Neb., so he decided to learn how to build a desk from scratch and went on to build one for his child. When he saw the result, he thought other children in the country could be in need of a desk and decided to build desks to give away. He has now built 150 desks that he has hand-delivered to families. His fundraising campaign raised 10,000 dollars in donations. And other Americans have taken it upon themselves to build homemade desks to give away to children who don't have one.
