Residents in the neighborhood near John C. Little Sr. Park in Seattle, Wa., were outraged by the numbers of homeless people staying there in makeshift dwellings. The scene is a common one in this city. But Andrew Constantino, who works for the nonprofit Low Income Housing Institute, sees communities like the Georgetown tiny house village as an ideal way to respond to the needs of the homeless. Once derided, Georgetown and other villages are now city-sanctioned camps that have been a game changer for many. While solutions to the housing crisis are complex, tiny homes provide relief to a vulnerable population. "I swear to you, if I had more tiny houses I could have the park empty within a week," Constantino told the Seattle Times.
