In April 2020, ESPN released The Last Dance, its 10-part documentary chronicling the six-time champion Chicago Bulls' rise to basketball acclaim in the 1990s, along with the journeys of its star players, notably Michael Jordan. Last week, the star player donated $2 million dollars worth of proceeds from the doc to Feeding America (a nonprofit with a network of 200 food banks and 60,000 food pantries), as well as its member food banks in the Carolinas and Chicago. It couldn't come at a better time as, earlier in November, Feeding America warned that 54 million people in the U.S. -- more than 1 in 6 Americans -- could soon be facing food insecurity.
