In just four years, 21-year-old Kamal Singh from Delhi has mastered enough ballet skills to find admission in London’s prestigious National Ballet School. Fernando Aguilera, his Argentine-born teacher in Delhi was inspired enough by his natural talent to provide him with a scholarship for four years. The fees and living expenses in London seemed an insurmountable challenge until they decided to try out crowd-funding. Within two weeks, with generous help from Bollywood actors who had read about his plight, Kamal Singh and his mentor were able to raise the required money. “I taught him for four years, he never asked for a break, never missed a single day,” says Aguilera. Obviously, nothing, not poverty, not lack of access, not even a pandemic, can stop such devotion and passion.
