The first wildlife bridge in Utah is working as intended. The bridge was built to give large animals a safe passage over Interstate 80 after 2016 and 2017 saw 46 deer, 14 moose and 4 elk killed on that stretch of highway. Utah's efforts are being rewarded -- video footage shows deer, bears and bobcats using the bridge, and there are reduced numbers of accidents in the area. Colorado and Montana have similar wildlife overpasses, and California is expected to open the world's largest wildlife overpass next year.
