The Arts Team of the Los Angeles Times compiled their favorite silver-lining stories from the pandemic. From drive-by parties to porch concerts and sidewalk art galleries, Angelenos found ways to celebrate and share art and beauty with one another. Some other favorites include Hamilton streaming, Zoom magic shows, generosity of patrons of the arts and bravery. A touching highlight is Ben Barcelona, who is "quite possibly Los Angeles's most devoted museum-goer." The 81-year-old spends each day of the week at a different museum. When Covid shut museum doors, Barcelona didn't skip a beat -- he found new local wonders to visit, like the abstract graffiti outside an auto-body shop, or the modern architecture of a local fast food place.
