The Whiting family in Texas was enjoying a sunny day at a beach in Monterrey, Calif., when daughter Haylee got caught up in a rip current. Haylee's mom Samantha heard her daughter's cries and swam out to help her. Samantha was then caught by the current as well. Good Samaritan Kevin Cozzi heard the screams and swan out to the mother and daughter. He got to Samantha and saw she was struggling, so he grabbed Kaylee from her arms and led them both back to safety. The Whiting family lost track of their hero and left for home not knowing who had saved Haylee. Social media helped them track Cozzi down. When they learned he was planning a wedding for next fall, they set up a GoFundMe page to help raise money for their hero's dream wedding.
