Anton Nguyen, a resident of Brisbane, Australia, was awakened recently by a bang and his parrot Eric yelling. The parrot alerted him to a fire in his home before the smoke detectors went off. Nguyen saw flames near the back of his house and grabbed the bird and a bag and evacuated. I'm in shock, but I'm fine.... Everything's alright so long as I have myself and the bird.
