Something good happened on Twitter recently. After seeing a tweet or a retweet from Inuk singer-songwriter Becky Han asking for winter gear for students in the Arctic Bay, Nunavut, actor Ryan Reynolds reached out to see how he could help. Reynolds has a 10-year relationship with winter gear company Canada Goose, and they worked together to provide hundreds of parkas, snow boots, mittens and other winter gear for the students. The location is so remote that the deliveries came in as a trickle instead of all at once. In accordance with local Covid guidelines, the items were sized and laid out in the gym, and families came to select their gear one grade at a time. Canada Goose also announced the expansion of its Resource Centre Program and will be working to identify communities within Inuit Nunangat who have the biggest need for repurposed parkas.
