In 2018, 3M began surveying demographically representative people in more than a dozen countries about their views on science, in the SOSI, or "State of Science Index." Since the pandemic, they have seen the highest level of trust in science since their polling began a double digit increase, with more than half of respondents agreeing that, "science is very important to their everyday lives." Ninety-two percent of global respondents believe that science should dictate the actions we take with respect to Covid-19.
