Forty-four years after being adopted from South Korea by a US family, Denise McCarthy has been (virtually) reunited with her birth family -- including a twin sister she never knew she had. McCarthy recently discovered her biological family thanks to a Korean DNA program that matches US adoptees with their families. This amazing story started when, at age 3, McCarthy and her twin sister went missing at a market. Although her twin sister was found three days later and returned to the family, McCarthy was taken to an orphanage and eventually adopted by an American family. McCarthy had been told that she was abandoned by her family and she was overjoyed to find out that her family had never stopped looking for her; they had even opened a shop in the market where she went missing in the hopes that she would return there. Their virtual reunion was poignant, and McCarthy looks forward to hugging her family and spending time with them as soon as possible.
