Using an app called "Rubbish," 20-year-old Pepperdine University student Bryan Kaleta began diving deep to pick up trash along San Diego's waterways. Starting in June and continuing for seven weeks, he worked to protect more than 20,000 square meters of coastline. The app is free and provides innovative ways for people to pick up trash wherever they are in the world. "I'm like, wow, I can't believe that all of our activity and just litter goes into the ecosystem," he told CBS8. "You guys want to keep living clean and healthy, then I'd say you should start thinking about the ramifications that your actions cause," Kaleta said.
