Canada's Environment Ministry is taking action in the face of plastic pollution. According to the Canadian government, single-use plastics make up most of the plastic litter found in the country's freshwater environments. To address the issue, Canada is planning a ban on single-use plastics, amid an effort to achieve zero plastic waste by 2030. Prime Minister Justin Trudeau referred to single-use plastics as "a problem we simply can't afford to ignore."
