Twenty-six Tasmanian devils were released into a 1,000-acre fenced sanctuary north of Sydney. The endangered mammal's numbers have dwindled over the last two decades. The effort has been led by conservation group, Aussie Ark. It is their hope that the species will survive and thrive and begin to get their numbers back up. Additional Tasmanian devils will be released over time.
