While walking has always been associated with elevated moods, a recent study called “awe walks” adds the element of cultivating awe to the study. The study's participants were asked to pay attention to more external details as they walked. The researchers found these people to be happier than the study group that was just walking (minus the awe). This study is another validation of the fact that we are more at peace when we feel that we are part of something bigger -- in short, when we are in “awe” of everything around us.
