It is with a feeling of vulnerability that Q, who was a homeless woman, lived on Skid Row, the infamous L.A. neighborhood, for more than 20 years. Her best friend, Shirley Raines, justifies that feeling: "If you can't protect and defend yourself, you don't go to the Row," she explains. Q was among one of the nation's largest concentration of homeless people when living there. But that was until something that qualifies as a happy ending happened to her. After the two friends were featured on a CNN show, Q's family spotted her and went to take her home. Though broken-hearted by the perspective of not seeing her friend anymore, Shirley shares being "so happy" for Q, who has her family back after 26 years without them.
