Marty’s Place Senior Dog Sanctuary in New Jersey is a very special shelter for dogs. Called a “dog sanctuary,” it takes in older dogs who are abandoned at shelters and aren’t getting adopted, as well as senior dogs faced with homelessness when their owners get sick or pass away. They have everything from “active adult to hospice care,” with dogs ranging in age from 10 to 18. These dogs don’t just want to sleep all day, and Marty’s Place provides long walks and even swimming for water-loving dogs. The sanctuary gives these dogs a place to age gracefully, have fun and have all their medical needs met, as well as all the love they need.
