A group of volunteers led by a man named Bikram Bhadel are working hard to provide meals to patients and doctors at Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital in Kathmandu. The cafeteria there remains closed during a second wave of lockdown in Nepal. "Every day I watched the patients, their families, doctors and other healthcare workers struggling to get a good meal," Bhadel told the Associated Press. He took 1 million rupees ($8,333 USD) from his family savings to buy groceries and pay rent for a vacant restaurant close by. With the help of his friend, Indra Kumar Newar, and a few hired workers and volunteers, he has been able to deliver nutritious meals to those in need.
