The pandemic has changed everything -- including this family's farm plan. And after seven decades of farming summer berries and autumn pumpkins, the Thompson family changed up their planting patterns to offer people an escape from pandemic worries to enjoy some sunflower smiles. Fifteen fields covering 22 acres are blooming with a brilliant array of zinnias, wildflowers and other plants that attract butterflies await visitors in Bristol, Wisc., just outside of Kenosha. And because of the overwhelming positive response, the Thompsons will continue this new tradition.
