Generous Americans are actually giving more to charities during the pandemic, according to data from Lending Tree. Many Americans are donating in ways that aren't usually recorded, due to the inability to write them off on income taxes, including donations to local relief funds, or sending money to loved ones who have been laid off. Additionally, some consumers have continued to pay for services they can't use because of social distancing guidelines, like housekeeping and babysitting, as a way to support small businesses.
