Every adversity brings with itself an opportunity. A Mumbai based girl- Payal Bahadur- enabled her parents' school in rural Darbhanga(Bihar) go online during lockdown. While urban children continue their education online, rural children- who need education all the more - are denied the same. Payal faced challenges of access of devices, data and digital skills among both students and teachers. She conducted hands-on training, and has personally handled all the technical work for the first 2 months. She did a SWOT analysis of different technologies vis-a-vis constraints of students and teachers. Consequently, younger children are sent recorded videos on Whatsapp group, while older students have live Zoom classes. Even extra-curriculars and unit tests have also been conducted online. Unfortunately, some students miss out due to lack of devices. She has launched a scholarship program for sponsors to donate smartphones. Her work has helped students continue their classes despite the pandemic and will also be helpful post pandemic.
