Seven-year-old Shruthi J is a child with a mission. She has taken up the task of supporting her friends in a nearby orphanage by selling her artwork. She has raised Rs 10,000 so far and aims to raise five times that amount. �I want the children at the shelter to have the same things that I do�, she says earnestly. She has already gifted books, toys and stationery to the 25 children at the orphanage. Her inspiration are her social worker father and artist mother who encouraged her to use her skills rather than donating her toys. Two months into the lockdown has already seen her complete 50 paintings and sell them through the NGO Reachout India, and donors are eager to contribute far more than the sum she asks for her paintings.
