The London restaurant scene was hit hard by the closure of all restaurants in late March due to Covid-19. Restaurateurs found four ways to survive the lockdown. One area of focus was supporting the mental health of restaurant staff during an incredibly stressful time, such as creating a WhatsApp group for staff to keep in touch. Another way was donating time to create meals for the National Health Service workers and vulnerable residents. Other ways to stay afloat included selling through online stores, meal deliveries to private homes and creating meal kits with restaurant-quality groceries. Restaurateurs also started looking out for each other in ways they never did before.
