Three Georgia prison inmates have been heralded as heroes after rescuing their supervising guard -- the deputy of the jail. There has always been a healthy respect between the guard and the inmates. Three inmates in particular -- Terry Loveless, Walter Whitehead and Mitchell Smalls -- noticed that the guard was looking faint and sick. When he returned to his desk, they saw him pass out and slip on the floor -- splitting his head against the ground. Instantly, they clamored and made noise. They wanted to wake him and get his attention. Eventually the guard arose, thinking that the inmates needed help, and opened a control panel to open the doors to aid them. Immediately, these three men rushed to provide aid, called the authorities for help to come quickly. The community is grateful and the guard is recovering at home.
