Anyone who has been to a store recently knows there's a shortage of many things. In New York, they are short of cats and dogs, too. With extra time on their hands, people are adopting so many pets that shelters are running out of animals to match with homes. The same is happening in other disease hot spots as well. Los Angeles saw a 70% increase in animals going into foster care.
