Lucy Blaylock started sewing when she nine years old, making a blanket for a friend's birthday, then posting a blanket giveaway for children in need. When she couldn't pick one winner of the giveaway, she decided to sew a blanket for all the kids in need who had responded to her post, thus beginning her mission to bring love and comfort to kids going through difficult times. Lucy is now 11 and has since made more than 500 blankets that she has sent to kids all over the US, as well as to 14 other countries. Since the start of the pandemic, Lucy has also sewn 1,100 masks for healthcare workers and children in need. Lucy encourages other kids to volunteer, saying, "Service always matters."
