Lee County, Alabama Deputy, Manuel Stone, was eating lunch when he was approached by three teenage girls who gave him a note, telling him not to open it until they left. When he did open it, Deputy Stone discovered that the teens had paid for his lunch. Especially with the current negative light on police, this kind gesture meant a lot to Deputy Stone due to it coming from the younger generation. Deputy Stone, who is also biracial, remarked that he is at the intersection of all the current social issues and is glad to know that his service to the community is appreciated.
