Since 2011, the young men of Wagram have been working on flipping an abandoned prison in rural North Carolina into a sustainable farm and educational center through the nonprofit organization Growing Change. Growing Change was started by Noran Sanford as a response to the crime and poverty that devastated his community. Younger men who have been "facing chaos at home, failure at school, trouble with mental health or substance abuse and involvement with the criminal justice system" work with the nonprofit to help stay out of trouble. Growing Change provides a path for those who need a second chance.
