Parents in Seattle, who might have been a bit overwhelmed with their children's homeschooling during the pandemic, can have a break now. Logan Spoonemore, a junior at The Northwest School, organized a group of around 70 high school volunteers to tutor elementary and middle school kids. Parents just need to sign up online, and their children will be matched with tutors who will take care of tasks from reading a book to the children and give a break to the parents, to even teaching Algebra 2. The free-of-charge sessions are held on different platforms and more than 50 children have already found their tutor. "I think Logan is really onto something. It's not just, 'oh, we need a tutor'. It's more about community, and being helpful to young kids," said one of the happy mothers.
