The lockdown is opening up slowly and people are stating to return to their hometowns. This poses a risk for new infections to enter and the need for greater care and quarantine for returning people. In a pioneering community effort, residents of Tungjoy village, Manipur, without any financial assistance from the government, have set up over 80 bamboo huts as quarantine huts to accommodate people as thousands of stranded have started returning to the state from various parts of the country. The initiative was lauded by the Chief Minister and more huts are being built in other locations.
