On Tuesday, thousands gathered in Houston, Texas to bid farewell to George Floyd - the man whose last moments sparked outrage and protests across the United States and world. In the two weeks since his death, tens of thousands have flooded streets, decrying police brutality and demanding systemic change. Floyd's loved ones say they hope his funeral marks the beginning of that widespread call for change. His childhood friend, Jonathan Veal, recalled how in 11th grade, Floyd had said, "I want to touch the world." "That comment, back in the 11th grade, was prophetic in nature. He is literally having a global impact," Veal said. And across the US, at least 11 cities and municipalities are starting to ban or have banned police officers' use of chokeholds, according to data gathered by CNN. City and state leaders are putting together police reform bills, as some cities banned police use of tear gas. "We need to rethink the use of police force", Washington's governor remarked.
