The musical act Pub Choir began in Brisbane, Australia, in 2017, drawing people together to learn harmonies and record popular songs. Now, for brightening spirits and warming hearts during the pandemic, Pub Choir brings us "Couch Choir," a collective recording of the more than 1000 people in 18 countries who, in response to Pub Choir's invitation, submitted a video of themselves performing Close To You," by The Carpenters. In thanks, Pub Choir wrote, " Every submission that we successfully received was manually added to the collective.... We can't adequately express in words what a gift your videos were to us. Each was like unwrapping a beautiful, personal, virtual hug. Thanks for trusting us with your voices, and for sharing your lives with us for a few minutes."
