Navajo Nation now surpasses New York and New Jersey for the highest number of coronavirus cases per capita in the United States. Amid their struggles for treatment and containment, South Korea sent 5,000 pounds of goods, including 10,000 masks and other PPE, to the reservation. They remembered the support Navajo Nation gave during the Korean War and were compelled to give back. "Our government made a decision to send the equipment and food to [Navajo Nation], to choose to not forget that. They will always be our heroes, and we'll continue to support them," said Insang Hwang, Deputy Consul General of the Republic of Korea.
