In Columbus, Ohio, last Saturday, pepper spray stung the eyes of anyone who was downtown, as tension lingered between protesters and police. Then on a relatively quiet, sunny Sunday morning, peace and kindness prevailed. Strangers walked with trash bags and buckets, cleaning up their city. Some of them had been at the protests the night before. Others saw the protests on TV and knew they could help restore peace one strewn plastic water bottle at a time. "It's everyone's city," one of the volunteers said.
