While diligent hand-washing may be helping flatten the coronavirus curve, in Mongolia, it's also the cause for a decline in other ailments among children. In the first quarter of 2020, the nation saw a 55.5% drop in common intestinal infections among children, compared with the same period last year. Respiratory illnesses are down, too. Experts say the primary cause of transmission is unwashed, dirty hands.
