For musicians in lockdown, balconies are serving as stand-in performance venues. Americans Matt Walker and Zeneba Bowers moved to Italy a few months ago after 20 years with the Nashville Symphony. They had planned to write their fifth travel book and perform, until lockdown made that impossible. Their place, about an hour from Rome, has stunning balcony views. "It occurred to us that we could come out here and play," said Bowers. "This is one way we could still perform, that we could do something positive for our community, and also not go crazy in quarantine. It helps!"
