A company in Santa Cruz, Prometheus Fuels, switches between producing clean burning gasoline and making face shields for healthcare professionals. This is to help meet the needs of hospitals, clinics and healthcare facilities that are in short supply of this protective equipment. When Covid-19 struck, the company's founder, Rob McGinnis, remembers thinking, "I bet there is some way we can help out." He was right. So far, they have produced more than 3,100 face shields that have been distributed to areas where they were needed most.
